I have had 34 years experiance in the communication engineering area. I joined the military in 1976 (Royal Signals) as a Radio Engineer . I progressed to Foreman of Signals in 1987 gaining a HND also becoming a Fellow of the IIE .
In December 1992 I left the Army becoming a Engineering Director of a company which designed routers for AT&T & Mercury Telecoms. In 1997 I left & joined Fujitsu Telecoms in a System design role for SDH Addmux , ATM Switching & SDH Microwave Radio projects.
In 1999 I joined Alcatel telecoms in a system design role for SDH Optics & Microwave Radio projects. I progressed in 2001 to Engineering Manager delivering ATM & ADSL Access projects in which I was responsible for a team of 20 Design Engineers & departmental budgets.
In 2003 I gained my BSc (Hon) through the OU & become a member of the IEE . In 2004 I gained my MEng through the OU & Fellow of the IET ( Former IEE) . In Nov 2008 I gained Chartered Engineer Status.
I have published several internal white papers on technical projects as has the T402 Technical project .
At present I am a Project Manager for Alcatel-Lucent delivering IN R&D projects.
